Weekend Update (Geiger DH Report)

[?]

Well how about that! Griss, Juni and I rode with the dh Reno riders (click for pics/video)on Saturday whilst, and at the same time, J.R. was out in Arizona riding at the 24 hours of Old Pueblo. We did 3 laps on the Peavine N-Trail Hitting Gap jumps and rolling serious rock drop-offs on the Rocks and more/University of Nevada Collegiate Trail.

Just before this pic one of the guys wispered to me, “dude can he handle this?” I said, “dude, it’s the Grissly Bike Geek.”

Those dudes can ride! As can the Grissly Bike Geek! Check out the video compilation below of him hitting several jumps as well as a cool double kicker on Geiger, and picking a sweet line down a seriously steep rock ledge.

oh yeah, That last one is me “trying to ride the Geiger down hill on an xc hard-tail…” take that Mr. Swobo! And yea, I suppose the Stately Pleasure Bike is hardly an XC hardtail, but by comparison to the Intense, Santacruz v-10 being bandied about it’s splitting hairs.

I can’t say that it was a bad time. The company was great, Thanks to Randy of Black Rock Bicycles for running the shuttle, Hope your wrist heals up well. But riding up to the top of the trail in a truck still sticks in my craw a bit.

hucking Peavine

Juni was a hit too, I should add. Those dudes were impressed with her speed through the rough. She got some good blisters on her paws, but she’ll be ok.

dh Reno et. al. are invited on our next JaphyRider sufferfest as our way of saying thanks for a killer day of dirtness. Perhaps Peavine Pancakes will make an appearance soon…

That’s the sweetest loop I’ve ever seen - too bad the photographer didn’t catch you upside-down.

    I can make that happen.

I risked life and limb to protect baconstrips good name. Let’s see the goods.

I’m working on it. Just have to put the finishing touches on the latest prototype of the GrisslyBikeGeek action figure. Can’t decide weather to use the Chuck Noris or the Barney Fife body mold.

Chuck Norris would stare down the entire planet so that the earth and the jump went around him…so you might want to factor that into your Photoshop magic or whatever.

That looks like fun. The last time I rode Peavine I was amazed at the number of trails and obstacles that I didn’t remember being there. Maybe I need to start exploring more of the stuff across the street from my house. Hmm..??

Props to Team bacon strip. Wofly and GrisslyBikeGeek shredded the trails it was unbelievable. They rode stuff that is a challenge on any bike. Great job, can’t wait for the next ride. As for action figure, go with the one with the really big balls GrisslyBikeGeek wins hands down for that gap jump. No shit it was awsome. See you soon Randy

It was a really fun day! Let’s ride again. Great pictures Wolfy - the sequence photos are awesome. These guys rode some radical, steep drops and jumps. The pics and videos don’t do it justice - when you’re on your bike at the top looking down, it’s a lot bigger!
