Got this in the mail the other day. That’s my boy!
ps you’ve got some nerve calling me the biggest geek on the planet. You’re the one who composed a poem on the hike up Hotlum/Bolam ridge to write in the summit register of Shasta. I remember trying to be invisible as you read it aloud to the 30 or so others at the summit.
Also, on the topic of things you never expected to find @ winco:
Perhapse next time PJ has a birthday we can just grill up some chicken fried stakes, whip up some of this and have Taldor dress up in his Leiderhoosen to serve us and dance for amusement.
I like how the photo makes it look like it would go great with some canned mixed vegetable melange and unidentifiable random cubes of meat, but where’s the tallboy of Optimator?

sure is a nice lookin’ bell. those things are handy in 24 hour races, as well as urban shreddin’.
i want to hear the poem composed during the climb up shasta??? i’ve done that same route and had a few personal compositions myself.
I do remember that it was to the tune of the Doxology
An ode to the patron saint of the mountain dorks.

Never claimed to be a poet; can’t remember the words but I’m confident it was bad. But composing poetry sure beat the hell out of Wolfy trying to put irritating, repetitive music in my head (see: Gilligan’s Island theme, Mr. Taco jingle, Bohemian Rhapsody, etc. ad nauseum). And I think I offered a chorus of ‘Ein Prosit’ on the summit instead of the doxology. Or maybe it was the Swamp Castle scene from Holy Grail. Besides…you didn’t know any of the other people on the summit anyway.
