Sizzling hot bacon for October 19th through October 22nd:
- Rusted Chain Gang - Poker Run « Cycling Carson City - I’ve been wanting to get in on one of these poker runs. The CC crowd is pretty cool. Don’t let the greasy one get you bummin on our brothers to the south.
- The Patriot - Good commercial! Maybe we should reconsidder our disdain for Miller High Life… Although this might be a good campaign for PBR or Haams…
- Finding Liberté on Two Wheels - New York Times - MY plane landed at Charles de Gaulle airport. I took the RER train into Paris, dropped off my bag and, two hours after landing, I was riding a bicycle down the Boulevard Saint-Germain.
- Bicycle Safety: How to Not Get Hit by Cars - Wearing a helmet will do absolutely nothing to prevent you from getting hit by a car! Sure, helmets might help you if you get hit, and it’s a good idea to wear one, but your #1 goal should be to avoid getting hit in the first place.
- RN&R > Guides > Best of Northern Nevada > Personalities > 10.18.07 - Scroll down for this one. I love Nevada. Although the first and the last sound like made up names…”Best legal prostitute: 1. Air Force Amy 2. Isabella Soprano 3. Bunny Love”

I read the article about helmets, Not helping you Before a car hits you, BS, you cand apply big odd shaped reflective stickers on the back, aiding vehicles in seeing you AND, you can mount a rear view mirror so you can more easily see behind you, giving you a better chance at moving out of the way.
I agree with that. I use 3m Schotchlight reflective tape on my helmet front and back for that.
Last spring I got a 666 Mullett helmet whith has few vents and lots of plastic to apply reflecto.
Which reminds me that I need too take off my Tour de Cul de Sac number sticker so you can actually see said tape…
What’s you experience with mirrors? My thought is that there’s no way I can focus on something so close to my head. Can you actually see out of one of those?
