My fellow baconians! It is time to produce another sticker for distribution as the face of the bacon strip! This design is taken from the U.S. Highway 395 sign. Modified a tad to make it fit on a single square… We have two designs to choose from. I welcome your input. Please post a comment for your choice for design A or design B. This will be for stickers, a banner for the side of the bacon buss for our race @ 24 hours of the old pueblo. and possibly T-Shirts.

Since these are for everyone, everyone can and should vote. The fonts are Simian Text, Arial Black and Texas Funeral (bitches!).

Design A:

TBS_sign_2 "design A"

Design B:

TBS banner and sticker "Design B"

I vote for design A. cause design B. I feel limits our riding to the U.S. only! Don’t get me wrong, I’m very patriotic even during these screwy times, but I consider us to be men and women of the world…hooo Raaaw! That sounds cheesy eh? So what bitches…! That’s my vote.

I am down with design A. However, I have been a fan of the ambiguity of stickers past. If these slated for distribution, I would drop the singletrack. Unless, you plan on a frozen bacon product to highlight our skiing culture

  5. the inspiration for the highway sign came from lots and lots and lots of time cruising on highway 50.

traveling, adventure, open spaces. it’s a state of mind rather than a country. much like choosing to ride challenging and remote singletrack over any other surface, or a skintrack rather than chair lift.

i figure it’s crucial to keep the fonts as close to authentic signage as possible. besides, the first generation of stickers used the texas font – without the benefit of a survey. how about a change.

if anything, make the font taller and skinnier, more white space on the edges of the T and S, and possibly add a line under the “singletrack.”

or, i’ll just do it myself.

I like chairlifts, I like skin tracks, I like sngletrack, fireroads/pavedroads can be cool to, if they get you where you wanna go, which they usually do. Shit, I think I’ve even been shuttled before…wait, maybe not! Unless you consider driving up the mountain to pedal bikes!? Hmmm! Not opposed to it though.

    Don’t wanna over-anal-yze it… I like your idea Wolfman!

    The font is Interstate: http://www.fontbureau.com/fonts/Interstate

I really like this font. might have a friend who can get it to me…

    interstate

  9. I like the second one, not necessarily with US. The typography just seems to fit better, however I do think using Interstate or a similar font will make it look schweet.

  11. Design A would be my choice. I do like the TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS font. Combine Nooners 1st comment and japhyriders comment. I would agree with both of them. Keep the singletrack!

I like B. Yes, keep the singletrack. I even like the U.S. part. Thanks for asking. Now, I’m off to repair this years early season base and edge damage and hopefully even get my new skins trimmed.

    J. rider here. as far as i can tell, the easiest way is to publish a comment, then edit it. from there, you can add links, images, etc. about as easily as in a post. i think you need have some kind of godlikestatus to edit comments though. if that’s a problem, fill out a comment card and leave it with the executive assistant at the front desk.

    here ya go…

Gonna need help with the cash tho. it’s $120 (2 one for backcountry one for singletrack)for the squares and $30 for the ovals…
