Sizzling hot bacon for February 25th through March 1st:
- Sixteen Thousand Miles - Home - This guy was in Reno a few weeks back. I wonder if he is the Dharma Biker… “In the summer of 2007, I rode solo unsupported from Anacortes, Washington to Bar Harbor, Maine.”
- RGJ.com: Forest Service: No climbing at Cave Rock - If I ever get good enough to climb overhung 5.12 this will really bum me out. “The U.S. Forest Service has issued a final order prohibiting rock climbing at Lake Tahoe?s Cave Rock.”
- #61 Bicycles « Stuff White People Like - “A good place to find white people on a Saturday is at a Bike Shop. Bike shops are almost entirely staffed and patronized by white people!”
- Life More Natural - We arrived on Friday afternoon and rode downhill from the campground that sits at 5ft above sea level towards Death Valley?s low point of 280ft below sea level.

The Cae Rock ban has always seemed a little strange to me. I mean, there’s a road through the darn thing. Now if they were serious they would reroute the road and then I would understand. Instead they only target climbers.
I did a couple of the overhanging 5.12s there back in the 1990s when I was capable of that. They were very fun and very different from the kind of climbing you find most other places.

Reedster,
You gonna make it up for the Coolest 24 Hour Race in the beautiful Cool, CA?
Also, what kind of light was that, that I borrowed from your buddy? Thinking about getting one…

Don’t know about Cool. When is it?
The light was a light and Motion Stella R. The R is Orange. I’m not sure what color the normal Stella is. I think I saw them on sale for $199 at one of the online shops, but I’m not sure which one. I think the battery on those things is supposed to last for quite a while, like 4 hours or more, but I’m not sure.
