That’s Stubbie, the smoothest biker you’ll meet, badass alpine shredder, in the resort and B/C and a beer drinking extraordinaire!!!

So I took a much needed break from the bike, in particular, the 1speed!  Last night my buddy Greg (Stubby) called and told me to meet him at Aarons in the A.M.  From there we headed west on I-80 to Cisco Grove, parked, and did the giant slog up to Signal Pk  We thought we were going to ski the north shot on the backside, but noticed if we did another short traverse, we could scrounge a lil more vert out of it.  So of course, we said, let’s do it, and screw the skins let’s just boot pack up this bitch!  By the time we got to the top it was a freaking blizzard out!  Which was off and on… bluebird, blizzard, bluebird, blizzard…We waited for Mr. Sunshine and sure enough he came.  We ended up skiing down an east face that was one of the sickest “Warren Miller Style” screw that, “Powder Whore Style” lines that I skied this year.  Well, maybe not that big, those guys go big!  Nonetheless, it was fanfuckintabulous anyway!  Smokey and Salomon’s lines were pretty sick too.  Not bad for a few mutts and some old dogs!  Ha!  We dropped it like it’s hot, dropped it like it’s hot!  So what we skied down we had to skin up, another freaking slog fest!  When we got to the top we finished off our vittles and waited out the blizzard again… and guess who decided to show his bright face?  That’s right, Mr. Sunshine… so we strapped our shit up nice and tight and skied another sick line down the south face of Signal Pk and took the long semi-downhill traverse back to the car… this was were Smokey and Salomon were really able to show off the speed and not so graceful agility… I think they got broke the fuck off, well, so did Greg and Aaron and I!!!It was a six hour day and we weren’t lolly-gagging around either.  Maybe a lil, like pals do I guess!  Sorry Wolfy, no pictures, to busy skiing!  Sorry for not calling everyone else either, it was a last minute thing and we left early.   Later dudes and chicks, Nooner

Noon, I don’t know how you were able to post this as soon as you did. It’s only been a few hours after the ski, and I just woke from my post ski/beer coma with JUST enough energy to turn the computer on.

You skiing today? Give me a shout if you do! If not, let’s ride bikes soon… there’s a 24 hour race around the corner and that bitch is sneaking up!!!

fantastic story telling Nooner, the vibe is infectious. good pics are nice, but without a story they’re just pics…

    Huck Tater?

any chance that Grizz would be willing to ride some N. Yuba trail-Hall’s Ranch-Fiddler Ridge (sic) for the annual birthday bike ride? Auburn is fun and all, but the snow’s melting out and we’ve got options! let’s crush that dude, or get crushed by him…

ps- anyone interested in rallyin’ to Sedona for the 2-day trail ride the weekend of April 5th, the Sedona Circumcision?

pss- then, April 18, there’s converging talk of a nice 2 day dirt road bike ride down by Hunter Mtn, Race Track Valley, Saline Valley. leave town Friday after work. get home Sunday night. i may try to cache some water and beer out there somewhere. i haven’t done a nice motorbike tour in a while… anyone with a dirt enabled highway speed machine interested in doing some recon?

Yes, I’d be up fo the D-Ville area too. Last time I rode Auburn, about 4days ago, I brought home some of that itchy stuff. That loop you speak of J.R. is a good 5hour ride, maybe a lil less now, pending on the weather and what it did down there. Last weekend there was some hika-bikin and some bush wackin’. But all in all it was a great ride! Either way I’m in… I wanna crush that …Geek!

I would love to do April 5th to Sedona, but I might do a raft race with Zak on the American River… f-n crazy eh! I’ll let you know the “Word!”

Nooner, you can get some meds to take care of those crabs…stop blaming the auburn flora for your badbedmates…..really likin the jaks. skied today and they are like butter

i would love to do the auburn or yuba or whatever trail on gris’ bday. you all can figure out the where and i will join in. i want to head to sedona but need a person or two to go along for gas $ and to split driving.

i don’t even know how to start to address this whole ‘wolfy on tele skis’ debacle…i can only guess there is no video….

Where were folks yesterday? I came down from Contact Pass and figured I’d run into everyone I know along the east shoulder of Rose and around Galena Crk. We had the whole place to ourselves.

JR, That the trip Trent was talking about? Might not need to cache gear if Sara and Smella go and ride from a moto camp in the Racetrack area.

ah yes. the chase vehicle. come to think of it, they could ferry massive quantities of cold beer too. now that’s convenient! i think Shredder is in on the wagon concept - she won’t be up for much tour bike riding by then. let’s see.

i’ll probably still try to ride GS down there on a solo tour. it’s just plain fun.
