I just heard about this on NPR and with the glories of international firewalls I am unable to completely view this website. Check it out. Finally, a publication for us carnivores.

NPR? Is that some kinda pig holiday… maybe swine radio of some sort? Can’t remember!
Anyway, I made my way down to Auburn yesterday, just me and my ipod. We parked where the connecter trail starts. Where all the hardcore downhillers start. Rode up and did the tunnel trail, down the confluence trail to the river and back up to where I parked my truck. Then jumped on the connecter to the forresthill divide loop, did two laps and then back towards my truck via the divide loop and was feeling pretty good so I did another lap down through the tunnel and confluence trail and back up that long slog to where I parked! I’m guessing it was anywhere from 48 to 52-54 miles.
The trail is in great shape for the Geeks b-day ride. It rained pretty good on it about 2 days ago. Even if it stays warm till then it should only get faster with only a few really dry spots, but the divide loop should be really good!
However, there are “few showers” forecasted for Wed the 26th… 30%! Don’t think it’ll be an issue though… not if you’re a bacon trooper!!! Ha, i’ll be the first one to back out if it rains!
