that was a fun read for a Friday morning, though the 100 comments on it were just as entertaining.
The best comment of them all:
“Single speed bikes may seem harmless, but they are a gateway to more addictive machines such as three speed bikes. Don’t wind up like me, kids, I use a ten speed every day just to get to work. Stay in school, and stay off bikes.”
WOW a 17 lb bike!!! I’m having a hard time imagining that. I’m going to go fill my tubs with concrete. Hows THAT for a fad!
Some guys asked us what’s the deal with SS out on the Foresthill divide trail a few weeks ago. I think we just said, “it’s fun!”

I’m at a point now where I just tell people I’m to poor to buy gears and it really sucks. Your legs cramp 2 miles into a ride and you have to walk home. The secret has gotten out and there are to many gappers and uptight panty twisters SS now.
Griz
I tell people that I’m just not smart enough to figure out how to shift all them gears. Self deprecation is where it’s at. I think it will be the next big fad. Well, that and big wheels (not 29ers, the kid’s toy).
Sorry to leave this as a comment, but I didn’t find an email address.
I’m going around to all the Reno area bloggers/freelancers to let them know about our new book by a local author, the Historic Photos of Reno by Donnelyn Curtis. We’d love to send you a complimentary copy for possible review consideration on your blog of this book. This title is done in a large 10×10 format and all images used are culled from several archives that represent rare or never before seen photos of the “Biggest Little City in the World.” We’re trying to get the word out to local folks, so I hope you don’t mind me dropping you a line to let you know about our books!
You can find the author locally at a signing at the Meadow Wood Court Barnes & Noble on June 14th from 2-4pm.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Best,
Rachel Joiner
