The Grisley Aftermath
Many of you have heard the news that Gris. just had the best
road race ever…o.k. so you didn’t hear that because it has been
overshadowed by the aftermath of a gnarly crash. The current tally is a
concussion, dislocated collar bone, some busted teeth, 6 stitches, two black
eyes, and a whole lot of road rash. I know he appreciates all the love he
has been getting via calls and e-mails but he doe not want ya’ll to worry
too much.
Bigger problem is that Team Bacon Strip just got served the bill by CalTrans
for repair of the damage his face did to the road. WTF! How many members of
team bravo did you take out Gris!!!!!I’m in Salt Lake City until friday. I’ll send Smella up with some flowers.
Hugs and Kisses,
-M

Damn. I miss road racing sometimes, but I don’t miss the crashes. And the crashes seemed to occur way too often.
Hope everything heals quickly and you feel better soon. In the meantime I suggest martinis and beer.

I went up to see GBG and he is doin as good as expected. I got to see his busted out tooth in a dish. It was sweet! Knowing Shawn, he’ll be back on his bike in no time. The broken bike tally is broken carbon fork, broken carbon bars, taco fr. wheel skewer and shifters are on the mend. Get well my friend…we will be ridin SS for ya!
DUDE!! not sure what else to say.
I’m still kicking. I’ll know more after a visit to the orthopedist and dentist.
P.S. I never liked that tooth anyway, it’s the one I ripped out of Chuck Noris’ face. It never fit right.
Damn, GBG, feel better.
Let me know if you want any Mexican pharmaceuticals. I will be back mid-June.
Bad Ass.

i’m wondering why Griz is smiling – a potent dose of narcotic pain killers or proof that he just loves pain?
i hope you have a speedy recovery Grizz and that we get to do some trail riding this summer. let us know if you need any help with stuff (major landscaping/house projects that are now in limbo indefinitely).
See, that’s why I only race DH, it’s safer. Best of luck, get well soon.

Hope you have a fast recovery Shawn – cross season’s just around the corner and the courses are softer!
Thanks for all the support, it really does make a differance. It was great seeing everybody last night at the Icanberry’s.
I just got an email on the Renowheelmen list serve from Rich Paul, He’s the twilight series race director. He pretty much laid down the law to the people not obeying the rules when it comes to these races. From the statements he made it looks like he witnessed it all go down, from those idiots trying to create a leadout train, to people crossing the double yellow and then swinging back in cutting other people off.
Believe it or not I really do enjoy these races and plan to give them another try. I just hope that I see a change in people’s attitudes. If not I will have to quit doing them just for the fact that I can’t afford another one of these “accidents”.
Gris,
All of Reno Wheelsissies sliding across the ground on Griss face is insignificant cannot defeat the awesome power of bacon. Keep trying, punks.
