Shasta got raked this winter by high winds and so a lot of the high elevation lines are not as great as they have been in years past. also, the road around to the northside had not been plowed the final 9 miles as of last week. lassen had a ton of snow as of mid may and the road is fully plowed now. it is a leisurely three hours from town and a whole lot of fun. there's an easy way to rig a shuttle from the peak, i'm told, if you have two cars. i would also suggest hot springs and a stop at pangea in quincy for post ski fish tacos and beers. i got play around on both earlier this spring, but did not top out on either. Was just up @ North Lake near Bishop and there's some skiable lines with s bit o bootpacking. D.LaP was talking yesterday about wanting to road trip up to Lassen or Shasta in a few for some shots.
