born sometime in the late 1900s, probably in Flagstaff, AZ and survivor of 12+ winters.
she was rescued from the FLG dog pound with status as “the next dog to die,” in probably 1997. she lived in Flagstaff, Rochester, Las Vegas, Reno, and is now resting in Dog Valley.
Toolie was a “special” dog - instigator of much stress, always loyal to her Mom and an excellent sentinel. she was always happy to see friends and meet new people. she did not take any shit, especially from Dad.

Oh, wow, JR, sorry to hear this. My condolences to you and SAS. I’ve had to say good-bye to my own furry friends over the years and it never gets easier. We will miss her.

Vaya con puercas, Toolie. Your cranky persistence was an inspiration to us all. In many ways this little strip of the web owes you for it’s moniker since it was your skid mark on the earstwhile carpet which inspired the name of this blog.

Oh man, sorry to hear the terrible news guys. My first time meeting Toulose I witnessed a fierce battle between her and the bear you call Oso over a chip/pretzle. I new then she was something special. I’ll miss her grunts and Smokey will miss her growls.

A good dog is a terrible thing to lose. Japhy and SAS, sorry to hear about Toulose. I always enjoyed the incesant push against me to get some more petting after I made the mistake to stop petting.
