It was a great morning for the Nevada Cyclocross Race series to kick off @ Hidden Valley Park. There was wind, bitter cold, some challenging terrain, but sadly, no mud.. Japhy Rider took the C race on his fixie townie, and so TBS came home with the sandbagger trophy. Fortunately the guy he beat out is a Cat2 road racer, so there was a bit of that going around. No more C class for you unless your balancing a case of beer on the bars!

Next stop was Sky Tavern for some woodcutting. JR felled a tree while JWox and Pyrofloptic looked on. We got three loads Saturday afternoon and then three more Sunday. It was brutal. But the snow made it all worth while. Look at all that!!! 3 inches of luxurious fluffy snow in OCTOBER!!!!

Japhy’s got range! Spandex tights in the morning to carhartt’s in the afternoon, what’s your evening wear?

p.s. the new old crow album is worth a listen.

wool longjohns, wool ski socks, wool EWR jersey and cycling knickers with STIHL work gloves makes a pretty mean fall riding kit. then, a change of footwear, hat, swap the Absolute jersey for a hoodie and the knickers for work pants and wa-la, ready to gather some fuel wood (renewable energy!!!) for this winter.

hey where do I get more info on the NV cyclocross series. I am a slightly overweight Aries who’d like to try my hand at a race, but not so much that I want to get in anybody’s way if its a serious thing.
