Yum!
Everyone for whom regular, pan-fried bacon just isn’t quite, well, enough…take note. They’re Canucks. Of course. No word on whether it was Canadian bacon or plain ol’ back-bacon.
(BBC)–Three Canadian men have claimed a new record for the fastest trek across Antarctica to the South Pole. Ray Zahab, Kevin Vallely and Richard Weber said they had completed the 1,130 km (700 miles) journey in 33 days, 23 hours and 30 minutes. They say they suffered white-out but survived on a high-calorie diet of deep-fried bacon, cheese and butter.

That’s an impressive pace – I’ll be sure to fuel up with similar breakfasty goodness before my next day of over-snow travel (hopefully Saturday or sooner). I wonder if one could travel even faster by ingesting a few pints of bacon-guacamole?
