Bike Race Anyone?

Should be fun and I’m doing some training to increase my odds of not sucking too badly. After getting stomped by The Restless Ape last weekend at the inaugural bloody rose, I realize this may be a pipe dream, but that’s never stopped me.

Been playing around with Training Peaks (cool stuff) and it has this “share” option, so I put a couple of my training rides out there. This first one is Saturday’s ride, just kind of a nutty exercise in pain, going at climbing pace for 5 min, then coast down hill, recover for a couple of minutes and do it again. 17 times. The same half-mile of trail. Gawd, what was I thinking. I wasn’t, I was just watching the power meter and turning the legs. So, this is just a power file, you can turn off some of the data by clicking on the legend in the upper right. I find it easier to look at one or two parameters at a time.

Then today I did this short recovery ride, but I turned on my iPhone gps app (motion x) and recorded my track. I loaded both and it synced them so you can see the elevation plot with the power data and you can see the route as well. Pretty fun. Definitely satisfies the inner geek in all of us. Ok, may be just some of us. Ok, maybe just me.
