More Adventures in Training

COLD
This is supposed to be the start one of my high-intensity two week blocks of training. Love this stuff, really I do. Trying to do very focused steady-state intervals while worrying about frostbite is not my favorite thing to do. Oh, ok, I exaggerate but not by a lot. The Galena RAWS is less than a tenth of a mile from my house and DRI nicely maintains this cool web interface so I always have meteorological data handy. Of course, that doesn’t make me feel any better. Either way, given the goals of the next few days, I decided to do the indoor computrainer classes at Great Basin Bicycles instead of riding outside. Also gives me the chance to get to work early, get some stuff done and then focus on pedaling in the afternoon. I also added a few more diary entries and will add those to this post. Two other things I’ve been focusing on are my core exercises and actually doing some upper body work too. Not that I have ever been accused of having any upper body strength, but this is now all about being ready for some crazy endeavors. Pay now, gain for later.
Third Video Diary – working on packing and unpacking the bike for transport. This thing will travel quite a bit of the next year so better get practiced at this.
Fourth Video Diary – just some views of the evening snow and cold. The yard had another two inches on it this morning.

the best upper body workout i’ve ever experienced is climbing off-widths on lead. you’ll want to throw up, collapse, and whimper while licking your wounds. you also don’t want to fall, so you dig really deep. i’m happy to follow a few pitches if you’re up for a lead!
way to motivate amigo. i look forward to seeing how this manifests. hopefully i can keep up with you on the trail.
