There’s nothing like a hummer…

Adieu H2.

“If I could be reincarnated as a vehicle, this would be it.”

I love how more women bought it than men. If you’re still in the market for a car that could have come from a Kurt Russel movie, check this out the Knight XV from Conquest Vehicles. It’s higher price point should keep it around indefinitely…

    Good bye and good riddance.
When these were seemingly popular about 5 years ago I really began to think that I’m more bothered by the origins of the machine and name than I am by the stupidly high fuel consumption. The fuel thing will eventually work itself out when the costs rise (as they surely will) and there are plenty of vehicles out there that are as bad or worse in the fuel area. But there are no other vehicles that are attempting to mimic so closely a military machine. Why? What is it about a machine of war (read: death, destruction, waste) that makes people want to drive it? Do the owners of these not see the irony in that most of our current military expenditures go to keeping a supply of oil flowing so they can drive these pieces of shit? This does not honor those who serve us, in fact, by turning it into a toy for lazy fucks who can’t find a better use for their money it degrades those who serve and die for us. That may be a bit harsh, but how many of the people driving these could put on 75 lb of body armor, shoulder a 40 lb weapon and do it all in 120F heat? Not many is my guess. The latest report (called Mission:Readiness) on this says:
“9 million young adults between ages 17 and 24 are obese and therefore do not meet the fitness requirements for military duty. Weight problems are currently the leading medical reason recruits are rejected by the military.”
Want to respect the military? Loose this obscene hunk of junk and get in shape riding your bike.
Like I said, good bye and good riddance. May you never rise again.

The funny thing is that the h2 is just a re branded chevy tahoe / gmc yukon. I think the body mods actually make it less off road capable.
