“A 30-year old female bicyclist was his by a vehicle as she was traveling westbound about 6 p.m. Sunday night on Moana Lane, just west of Plumas Street.
The bicyclist was struck by a champagne colored Hummer SUV as the bike lane ended near Balfour Place. The bicyclist suffered numerous injuries, including facial abrasions, a back injury and a cracked pelvis.
She was transported to a Reno hospital and was being treated for her injuries. Her injuries were described as being non-life threatening. Further injury to the bicyclist were likely prevented by the proper fitting bicycle helmet she had been wearing.
The driver of the SUV immediately stopped and rendered aid.
Reno police traffic detectives are still investigating this accident and are seeking any witnesses who might provide information. Witnesses are encouraged to call 334-2141.”
