Jake’s Pk.
Yesterday, John, Jerry, and I packed up the mutts (Salomon, Blue, Eddy, and Smokey) drove down to the south-west side off the lake. enroute to our destination wasn’t to impressive as far as the looks of snow was concerned. We’re just hoping to have enough to skin on. We new the snow coverage would get better as we ascented the hour and twenty minutes to the top of Jake’s Pk. The usual shenanigans took place with the mutts - Smokey and Blue gang fucked Salomon for about the first fifty minutes, then they realized the climbing wasn’t stopin any time soon! They fell in their respectful places…I could of sworn Smokey was trying to catch a ride on the back of my skis until he caught one on the chin…yelp!
We made it…I expressed concern for our plans, John said, “back to the car I guess.” Jerry and I just looked at each other. We droped with eyes on each other, beacons peeping signals, and escape routes in mind…this was the ‘deep end’ and holy shit was it deep! The dogs looked like snow weasels with their heads popin up and down through the snow. Deep pow, open tree runs, with a few technical chutes to negotiate. Needless to say this warranted another lap with hesitation from John An Eddy, but we all made with smiles on our faces and pain in our lungs. Another lap of true Tahoe backcountry face shots…porn style bitches! Back to the Bridge Tender for food and drink…have to say it was a good day with good peeps. I don’t know who had more fun, the dogs or us?!?!?!?!?!?! Back for another round tomorrow.

Well, looks like we finally got rid of that high pressure that’s been plaguing the high sierras and my Atman. Out of the next ten days, seven have snow/rain in the forecast…that’s for Truckee…that means snow on Mt Rose and possibly Castle Pk (might be a good chance for a tour Wolfy - if you haven’t givin up completely yet - bein the funjunkie that you are I’m sure you haven’t). Everybody needs to keep their digits crossed and keep up the snow dancin and praying…I can’t wait to say, “take that Dr. Shredless!” (All in fun, don’t get verklempt on me! hahaha, don’t hate the magician, enjoy the magic sizzzzzletizzzits)

Well, Well, Well
This hombre might be goin legit…I might have a ski patrol position at one of the Tahoe locals! I put in an app. for a volunteer position a few months back…they actually want to give some duckets, you know green backs, currency, cashola, pesos, or whatever you wanna call it. Takin that chump change to the bank biaaaatches! Anyway, I have to do a ski test with the higher ups, the brass. They asked me if I can ski the 58’s - the Pallisades, I said, “if you magically put some snow on those bithces, then I’ll drop the knee down those f—ers.” Just kiding, didn’t speak the mind, but I wanted to!
So the benifits for me - I get a free ski pass, which I already have - I think I’ll get one for a friend or family memeber next season if I so choose to do it again, which I will - I get to ride a mobile, which I’ve never done(no comments from the peanut gallery McD) - I get promotional points for the fire service (CDF), f–ya - I get to ski the mountain and be cool with a white cross on my back, respect fools, you dig - the best reason for last, I’ll get to blooooow shiiiit uuuuup! Legitimately of course…I hope this blog doesn’t get my Brown Ass in trouble.
Needless to say I’ve been doin laps, tunin up the skills to impress those guys…they all seem pretty cool so far - wish me luck compadres!

Shallow but no rock jibbing…not a single one! Just a nice high speed kicker in the middle of the run that a few saddled up too…Good times with good people on Sunday!

BACKCOUNTRY
Japhy Rider! Japhy Rider! Japhy Rider…Should be Japhy (Rough) Rider! Leave it up to McD to put a hurtin on everyone in the backcountry. Not only was the climbing rough(about three grand) but skiing down, as Smithers put it, “did you guys here and see all those rocks I was jibbin?” Even though he wasn’t on Teles, the beast was shredding! Made me wanna break out my board again…wait a minute, tele love, right J (rough) R!!!
So our first 216.71 feet of verticle lost was combined with exquisite powder turns, acrobatics, devilish laughter, and barking dogs(Oso) who seemed to share in the shenanigans of the fine day! The last 2783.290000 feet of verticle was skiing and riding rock slalom gates, rock hopin, rock jibbin, rock grindin, bush slidin, bush wackin(mind out of the gutter), and…ever seen that survival show on TV with that English dude…that ain’t shizzzit compared to what we lived through today!
Don’t get me wrong, I had a wonderful, beautiful, glorious, and adventurous day out there with with the fellas(canines included)!
Can’t wait to do it again McD
Oh yeah, stay the hell away from the Mt. Rose Proper area everyone, at least for now!

Sorry for the ooops - with the biking Grass Valley(that’s a town not a weed farm) thing! I’ll get the picture up soon. I was finally able to shimmy an account(I had to lie, cheat, and thieve to make it happen - I always prevail)…First, I’ve been busy with the holidays. Second, I had serious trouble trying to create my account. And third, I’m a bit challenged when it comes to technology! Maybe I shouldn’t let that be known since I was invited to be a contributor?!
Enough explanations! The tecate toten Bandito is here in the Sierra Nevadas, and it’s dumping out…I believe the resorts reported 4″-6″ this morning and were expecting another 12″-18″ by tonight…I must say it came with a vengence. So wax those skis and boards and head into the backcountry…don’t wanna here any excuses from the peons(grislybikedork I mean geek) who have to work…call in sick or quit - it’s really that simple. keep praying to the snow gods because right now it’s jiving…if the snow ceases then all ya’lls ladies have to strip down to thier b-day uniforms and dance and frolic while I drink my wine and stroke my belly - at my abode of course - no peeping Mcds, geeks, or wolfs either - otherwise it won’t work - seriously!!! Ya’ll dig?! No bull, it really works! Then it cums(sorry for the typo) with a vengence again - the snow that is!
