The aspen are popping both in the Wasatch and the Sierra and the temps are starting to cool at night, there’s snow coming folks! Just returned from watching the first ski porn of the 08/09 season. ”The Pact” is the latest release from the PowederWhore’s of SLC. It’s a fun film and did what I needed it to do, which was get me excited about the upcoming snow, but I don’t think it is nearly as edgy as some of their other ones. The highlight for me was some old footage that they dug up from some BC skiers in the late 70’s/early 80’s. It reminded me of some trips I’ve had with folks from here, lots of laughing and smiling. That said, the Reno crew should turn out the folks on 10/22 to Ceol. The generous whore’s are using the event to showcase their new film and as a fundraiser for NWP according to the website. I thanked one of the Howell brothers this evening, please remember to do the same at the end of the month.
Howdy fellow TBSers! On the eve my my first day of school, I thought I’d procrastinate from reading my assigned arguments by sharing a few pics from a few of the rides I’ve been doing out here in the Wasatch. These mountains are fun! I’ve been on the ground for about two weeks and have been getting out on some very scenic and challenging (for me) 4 hour rides about 4 times a week. A couple pics from the party last Saturday night. We hosted the Salmon Road Show. Bando has done some work with these guys in the past and will be taking the month of September to work with them again throughout the PNW. The boys were in the final days of their 5 week road show and pretty stoked to roll into town and find a bunch of characters hanging out and drinking beer. (thanks tom!) I’m not sure we advanced their cause, but everyone had a blast playing with the fish.
It seems that while i was on the road i missed alot of the fun to be had in our short spring season. thought i’d share a few pics from my misadventures across the Northwest. Originally, my plan was to head into Oregon and ski as many of the Cascades as possible. The plan slowly fell apart and i was left to my own devices. Snow quality and differing goals with my partner where the major reasons we decided to reevaluate. below are a few shots from the travels.
