That’s SphincterGirl, halfway back down after the epic summit bid on Volcan Osorno, in northern Chilean Patagonia near Puerto Montt. Too bad you can’t see the abject terror on our faces! OK just kidding. It was a great climb, trip report is here.

There will be a second TR on our trek on Isla Navarino, in Chilean Tierra del Fuego, once I dry out enough to write it. We hiked five days and it rained for 4.5. But we found time for a little cheer:

And BTW, quit hogging all the snow out there. We spent three weeks Down Under and there’s less snow now than when we left!  –SB

Nothing espeically heavy-duty to report here, except that SphincterBoy has returned from the inexplicable posting exile that ensued in the switchover of TBS servers. Here’s a couple of photos from climbing Devil’s Tower (Tad) and Crestone Needle (Ellingwood Arete) last summer with SphincterGirl.

Dry Gulch, near Loveland Pass, CO, last weekend. After last week’s post, I felt it only fair to post something that is not completely tasteless.

Unprecedented heat wave here–temperatures well above freezing even in the high country. So we had to skin up an extra ten minutes or so to some northeast-facing trees which provided great skiing in near-tropical temperatures.No wind either, for once. From nearest to camera, that’s Harshfield, his friend Steve from Boulder, and Greg’s wife Lara. It was a great day in a beautiful place and a fine way to spend W’s LAST friggin’ full day in office.
