Trails!
This is it. A Reno Mountain Bike Trail guide in luscious brown and green with little curvy lines all over! And no lame animations, no nifty pop-up windows, half naked bimbos in the side-bar(yet). Just guides to the trails for your enjoyment and the preservation of our open space recreation resource.

Up first: Peavine! Maps by Huck Tater.

Great work on the keystone map. I’d just like to nominate a few of the names me and my fellow riders use: nameless 1 = broken shovel (below the bacon strip junction) the badger (above the BSJ), Luge run = halfpipe, High pint cairn = No Chicks hill, and Poeville Junction = three trees. It’s great to see more people enjoying these trails, and more trails being ridden all the time. See you in the canyon! Happy trails.
there is a badger out there for sure! i’ve seen her/him. and i ain’t typin’ about the ole’ timer tent campin’ for the last 2 years just off the trail. if you haven’t noticed him, well, good. he looks to trying to stay on the D.L. feral peeps, now that’s the real deal.
that “no chicks” thing is erronious. The Shredder rides that all the time. you guys ought to go ride with some other people, maybe even females. every girl i ride with shreds above and beyond that watershed at the slightest provocation. there are at least half a dozen of them that i can think of.
maybe that should be called “Fists of Fury” hill (in honor of the new vernacular picked up at the Keyesville Classic)

Thanks russell! We’re going to have to come up with a tie breaker on some of those. Perhapse a pissing contest of some sort for naming rights; MTB alleycat; drinking game; trashtalking sess; arm wrestle; or good old big horn head-butting…
i.e. I like Luge Run. And Three Trees (also suggested by another) is a little too boring. How about Three Trees of death, or gunfight at the three trees, Three Trees Whore House, or something. We strive for excellence here at TBS, and barring that we strive for amusement, and barring that we strive for dirt.

Luge Run makes sense – everyone know what trail you’re talking about.
3 Trees is pretty widely known reference, but is not accurate. it’s also possible that those trees won’t make it through another brush fire, redneck gets a chainsaw, or beetle infestation.
Poeville Canyon has some good ole Nevada history, I’d vote for acknowledging that by sticking with Poeville Junction as a reference for that area.

The new “TBS Trail” (not sure if that’s what you guys call it?) is awesome. Checked it out for the first time yesterday, I was way stoked, finally good flowy singletrack for the whole descent. I’m gonna ride it as much as possible!
Yeah! I find it kind of challenging. Those turns are so tight. And it’s still sort of rough. But the loop up BongTrail and down TBS killer. Longest stretch of singletrack in the area!

The Bong Trail-TBS loop was awesome Saturday!
Could someone e-mail me a high-res version of the TBS Peavine map? I would like to do the trail map right when I send it 11×17 to the color laser at work.
Thanks!
